MassEvents.org™ Website Terms and Conditions
Effective Date: August 4, 2026
Last Updated: August 4, 2026
These Website Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of MassEvents.org, including its calendars, event listings, databases, search tools, content, forms, features, and related services collectively referred to as the “Website.”
The Website is owned and operated by JAC WORKS LLC, a New York limited liability company (“JAC WORKS,” “MassEvents,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
By accessing or using the Website, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not access or use the Website.
1. Purpose of the Website
MassEvents.org provides an online calendar and informational platform that collects, organizes, summarizes, and displays Catholic events obtained from parish bulletins, diocesan publications, church websites, event submissions, participating organizations, and other sources.
The Website is intended to help users discover Catholic religious, charitable, educational, social, cultural, and community events.
MassEvents.org is an independent service operated by JAC WORKS LLC. Unless expressly stated otherwise, MassEvents.org is not owned, operated, sponsored, endorsed, or officially authorized by any diocese, parish, religious order, church, school, ministry, organization, bulletin publisher, calendar provider, or bulletin-hosting platform.
The inclusion of an event, parish, ministry, or organization does not necessarily constitute endorsement by MassEvents.org or JAC WORKS LLC.
2. Informational Purposes Only
The information appearing on the Website is provided for general informational and event-discovery purposes.
We attempt to provide useful and accurate information, but event details may be incomplete, outdated, incorrectly submitted, changed after publication, canceled, postponed, relocated, or inaccurately stated in the original source.
Before attending an event, users should confirm the date, time, location, eligibility requirements, cost, registration requirements, accessibility, and other important details directly with the parish, diocese, ministry, venue, or event organizer.
MassEvents.org is not responsible for:
- Event cancellations, postponements, or schedule changes.
- Incorrect dates, times, addresses, descriptions, or registration information.
- Travel expenses or other costs incurred in reliance on an event listing.
- Conduct occurring at an event.
- Injuries, losses, disputes, or damages associated with attendance.
- Decisions made based on information displayed on the Website.
3. No Guarantee of Ecclesiastical Approval
MassEvents.org may use terms such as “Catholic event,” “parish event,” “approved event,” or similar descriptions to identify events appearing in Catholic sources or associated with Catholic institutions.
Unless expressly stated, such language does not constitute a representation that MassEvents.org independently obtained a formal declaration of approval, endorsement, canonical status, theological conformity, or ecclesiastical authorization from a bishop, diocese, parish, pastor, or other Church authority.
The event organizer and applicable Church authorities remain responsible for determining the event’s authorization, content, administration, and compliance with Catholic teaching and diocesan requirements.
4. Eligibility and Acceptance
You may use the Website only if you are legally capable of entering into a binding agreement.
If you access the Website on behalf of a parish, diocese, church, ministry, school, nonprofit organization, company, or other entity, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising minors who use the Website.
The Website is not directed to children under 13, and children under 13 should not submit personal information through the Website.

6. MassEvents.org Trademark
MassEvents.org™, MassEvents™, associated logos, and other source-identifying names, designs, slogans, and branding are trademarks or claimed trademarks of JAC WORKS LLC.

Access to the public Website does not grant access to or permission to use any nonpublic MassEvents process, method, system, documentation, or information.
Additional confidentiality or nondisclosure agreements may apply to contractors, developers, partners, dioceses, parishes, vendors, and other recipients of nonpublic information.
10. Event Submissions
The Website may permit parishes, dioceses, ministries, organizers, or users to submit events, corrections, descriptions, photographs, logos, links, or other materials collectively referred to as “Submitted Content.”
By submitting content, you represent and warrant that:

- Host, store, reproduce, format, edit, summarize, translate, adapt, display, publish, distribute, and promote the submission.
- Include it in MassEvents calendars, databases, websites, emails, social-media posts, applications, embedded calendars, and related services.
- Create concise event summaries from the submitted information.
- Share the event information with calendar and technology providers used to operate the service.
This license allows MassEvents to operate and promote the event-calendar service. It does not transfer ownership of your original content to JAC WORKS LLC.
Do not submit confidential information through a public event form.
11. Editorial Control
JAC WORKS LLC retains sole discretion over the Website’s editorial, technical, and organizational operation.
We may, without obligation or liability:

Submission does not guarantee publication.
Publication does not guarantee continued availability or future inclusion.
12. Event-Selection Standards
MassEvents.org may establish internal standards concerning the types of events included or excluded.
The calendar may prioritize public, scheduled, and attendable Catholic events while excluding or limiting certain routine schedules, internal meetings, advertisements, registrations, classes, repetitive listings, open hours, or other content.
These standards may change at any time.
The decision to include or exclude an event is an editorial decision and does not constitute a judgment about the event’s spiritual value, legitimacy, importance, or compliance with Catholic teaching.
13. Event Organizers
MassEvents.org is an information platform and is not ordinarily the producer, organizer, sponsor, host, ticket seller, venue, employer, agent, or representative of listed events.
Unless expressly identified as a MassEvents event, the applicable third-party organizer is solely responsible for:
- Event planning and operation.
- Registration.
- Admission fees and refunds.
- Safety and security.
- Insurance.
- Accessibility.
- Food and beverage service.
- Supervision of minors.
- Transportation and parking.
- Volunteer screening.
- Legal compliance.
- Conduct of organizers, speakers, vendors, attendees, and volunteers.
Any dispute involving an event should ordinarily be directed to its organizer.
14. Third-Party Materials and Source Information
The Website may reference or link to bulletins, parish websites, diocesan websites, maps, registration pages, social-media pages, ticketing services, embedded calendars, and other third-party resources.
Third-party names, logos, photographs, bulletin excerpts, descriptions, and other materials remain the property of their respective owners.
MassEvents.org does not claim ownership of third-party content merely because it is referenced, summarized, indexed, or linked through the Website.
We may use factual information from public sources to prepare original calendar entries and concise summaries. Users should consult the original source for full details.
15. Third-Party Links
Links are provided for convenience and informational purposes.
JAC WORKS LLC does not control and is not responsible for third-party websites, including their:
- Accuracy.
- Availability.
- Security.
- Accessibility.
- Content.
- Privacy practices.
- Cookies.
- Purchases.
- Registration procedures.
- Refund policies.
- Terms and conditions.
Your use of third-party websites is governed by their respective terms and policies.
A link does not necessarily constitute endorsement, affiliation, sponsorship, or approval.
16. Maps, ZIP-Code Search, and Geolocation
The Website may use addresses, ZIP codes, maps, approximate distances, device location, browser location, or third-party mapping services to help users find events.
Locations, boundaries, travel distances, and search results may be approximate or inaccurate.
A location-based result does not guarantee that:
- The event is within a specific parish, county, diocese, or municipal boundary.
- The listed travel distance is correct.
- The venue is accessible by a particular route.
- Parking or public transportation is available.
- The event is the closest relevant event.
Users should independently verify directions and venue details.
17. Personal Calendar Exports
The Website may permit users to export or add events to Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook, or another personal-calendar service.
After an event is exported, updates made on MassEvents.org may not automatically update the user’s personal calendar.
Users are responsible for confirming that imported information remains current.
MassEvents.org is not responsible for duplicate entries, missed changes, calendar synchronization problems, incorrect time zones, notification failures, or third-party calendar behavior.
18. User Accounts
If the Website offers accounts, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information.
- Maintain the confidentiality of your password.
- Restrict unauthorized access to your account.
- Notify us promptly of suspected unauthorized activity.
- Accept responsibility for activity conducted through your credentials.
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate an account that violates these Terms or creates security, legal, operational, or reputational risk.
19. Paid Services and Subscriptions
If MassEvents.org offers paid subscriptions, advertising, calendar hosting, data access, sponsorships, premium services, or diocesan or parish packages, additional written terms may apply.
Before purchase, applicable pricing, billing frequency, renewal terms, cancellation procedures, and material restrictions should be disclosed through the applicable order form or service agreement.
If these Terms conflict with a signed agreement between JAC WORKS LLC and a customer, the signed agreement controls to the extent of the conflict.
Nothing in these Terms obligates MassEvents.org to provide any feature indefinitely or without charge.
20. Advertising and Sponsorships
The Website may contain sponsorships, paid placements, or advertisements.
Sponsored content should be identified when required. Advertising and promotional claims are subject to legal standards prohibiting unfair or deceptive representations, and material disclosures should be presented clearly and conspicuously.
Acceptance of advertising does not necessarily constitute an endorsement of the advertiser, product, organization, or claim.
Advertisers are responsible for the legality and accuracy of their materials.
21. Privacy
Our collection and use of personal information should be described in a separate Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference when published.
The Privacy Policy should address matters such as:
- Information collected through event forms and contact forms.
- Analytics.
- Cookies.
- Location information.
- Email communications.
- Service providers.
- Data retention.
- User choices.
- Security.
- Children’s privacy.
- Applicable state privacy rights.
A Terms and Conditions page should not be used as a substitute for a complete Privacy Policy. The FTC has taken enforcement action when companies misrepresent their privacy or security practices, so the Website’s actual practices must match its published disclosures.

A copyright owner or authorized representative who believes material on the Website infringes a copyright may send a written notice containing:
- Identification of the copyrighted work.
- Identification and location of the allegedly infringing material.

This section is not a representation that JAC WORKS LLC has completed every step required to obtain a statutory Digital Millennium Copyright Act safe harbor. A company seeking formal DMCA safe-harbor protection should have counsel evaluate its eligibility, designate an agent with the U.S. Copyright Office when appropriate, and implement the required procedures. The DMCA includes specific limitations on liability and notice procedures for qualifying online service providers.
23. Corrections and Removal Requests
A parish, diocese, organizer, copyright owner, or other interested party may request correction or removal of a listing by contacting:
Please provide:
- The event title.
- The relevant webpage or calendar entry.
- The requested correction or removal.
- The reason for the request.
- Your relationship to the event or organization.
- Supporting documentation when appropriate.
We may verify the request before acting.
Submitting a request does not guarantee removal when continued publication is lawful and appropriate, but we will review good-faith concerns.
24. Feedback and Suggestions
You may voluntarily provide ideas, suggestions, feature requests, corrections, or feedback.
Unless the parties enter into a separate written agreement, feedback is not confidential, and you grant JAC WORKS LLC permission to use it without restriction, attribution, compensation, or obligation.
Do not submit confidential inventions, patentable technical details, or proprietary business information through a general feedback form.

Some jurisdictions do not permit certain warranty exclusions. In those jurisdictions, exclusions apply only to the maximum extent permitted by law.
28. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, JAC WORKS LLC AND ITS OWNERS, MEMBERS, MANAGERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, LICENSORS, SERVICE PROVIDERS, AND AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING:

- The amount you paid directly to JAC WORKS LLC for the applicable Website service during the six months preceding the claim; or
- One hundred U.S. dollars.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded.
29. Indemnification
To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless JAC WORKS LLC and its owners, members, managers, employees, contractors, service providers, and affiliates from claims, liabilities, losses, damages, judgments, penalties, costs, and reasonable attorneys’ fees arising from:

31. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Subject to any applicable small-claims rights or mandatory consumer-protection requirements, any legal action arising from these Terms or the Website must be brought in a state or federal court with jurisdiction over Schenectady County, New York.
You consent to the personal jurisdiction and venue of those courts.
Before filing a legal action, the parties agree to make a good-faith effort to resolve the dispute informally by written notice and at least 30 days of reasonable discussion.
This section should be reviewed by a New York attorney before publication, particularly if the Website begins selling consumer subscriptions nationally.
32. Compliance With Local Law
We operate the Website from New York.
We do not represent that the Website or every feature is lawful or appropriate in every location.
Users accessing the Website from another jurisdiction are responsible for complying with applicable local laws.
33. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes in the Website, law, security needs, or business operations.
The updated version will display a revised “Last Updated” date.
Material changes should be communicated in a reasonably conspicuous manner when appropriate. A company should not quietly impose materially broader data practices through a retroactive Terms update without appropriate notice and consent.
Your continued use after revised Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms to the extent permitted by law.
Changes will not retroactively deprive you of vested legal rights where prohibited.
34. Electronic Communications
By contacting MassEvents.org electronically, you consent to receiving responses electronically.
If you separately subscribe to newsletters or marketing emails, those communications may be governed by additional consent and unsubscribe terms.
Commercial email is subject to requirements including accurate sender information, an appropriate mailing address, and a functioning method to opt out of future marketing messages.
Transactional messages, event-submission confirmations, security notices, and service communications may be sent when reasonably necessary to administer the Website.
35. Assignment
You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without written permission from JAC WORKS LLC.
JAC WORKS LLC may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, reorganization, sale of assets, financing, transfer of the MassEvents business, or similar transaction.
36. Severability
If any provision is found invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted or modified as necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain effective.
37. No Waiver
Failure to enforce a provision does not waive the right to enforce it later.
A waiver is effective only when made in writing by an authorized representative of JAC WORKS LLC.
38. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any applicable signed agreement, constitute the entire agreement concerning use of the Website.
A separate signed service, licensing, confidentiality, development, diocesan, parish, sponsorship, or subscription agreement may supplement or override portions of these Terms.
